Pasefika Proud is the programme of work for the prevention of violence in Pacific families and communities working towards achieving wellbeing in Pacific families. The Pasefika Proud Campaign is a strengths-based approach, using positive messaging and community initiatives in a social marketing strategy.

Bringing together Church leaders and Non-Government Organisations through a series of Pasefika Proud National and Regional Pacific Community Leaders Fono, the Ministry of Social Development approached Oceania Media to report on its events.

Covering three Pacific Community Leaders Fono (in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch), our work included photography, posting social media updates and galleries, recording and full reporting of all Fono sessions, interviewing and collecting sound bites for the Fono report at the event.

This project included recording and transcribing all Fono sessions, developing editorial, piecing together summaries of break-out sessions and presentations, editing, graphic design and collation of reporting.

The inaugural Pasefika Proud National Pacific Community Leaders Fono in June was covered in a 48-page report. The Wellington Region Fono report is a 24 page report. We made the reports available to access as online flipbooks which are easy to read and provides detailed reporting to our client.

This is a first in terms of reporting style for the Pacific Unit at Ministry of Social Development.
